A world map of the unexplained
UFO Sightings Map is an interactive atlas of unidentified flying object and unidentified aerial phenomena reports from around the world. Spin the globe, find a glowing marker, and open the case to read what was reported, when, and where.
Where the cases come from
Every case is written from public historical record and from government archives that allow reuse, including the United States Project Blue Book files, the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence files held by the National Archives under the Open Government Licence, Library and Archives Canada, and the Brazilian National Archive. We write our own plain-language summaries from the documented facts and cite the source on each case.
What the colors mean
Cases are grouped as unidentified, disputed, folklore, or explained, so you can tell a strong radar-and-pilot case apart from a piece of old lore at a glance. Dimmer markers are events that are on record but whose original files are too degraded to read.
